Overcoming Difficulty
There is so much uncertainty - war and rumors of wars - and now our worlds economy seems to be in doubt. All this leads us to fear. What about our job, house, rising cost of living?
Yet there is one who we can trust -one who loves us - Our Lord, Jesus Christ. He was willing to die for you and I; He wants what is the very best for your life. He will only allow the trials in our lives that can lead us closer to Him and help us become more mature Disciple of His.

- Ojibwe woman invited to 'Oprah' show taping: An Ojibwe woman and her chiropractor were invited to a taping of the Oprah Winfrey Show about "Women Who Changed the World." Becky Roy, 35, is from the Wikwemikong Reserve in Ontario. She was recently diagnosed with diabetes. "In my community, that has had a terrible effect," Roy, who currently lives in Lansing, Michigan, told The Lansing State Journal. "I was devastated." But Roy credits chiropractor Jodi Whitfield with helping her take control of her life. She submitted an essay about Whitfield through Oprah's web site and they were asked to attend a taping of a show featuring Maria Shriver, Gloria Steinem and Billie Jean King.
- Navajo employee to receive top USDA honor: An employee of the Navajo Nation is being recognized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Thomas Yellowhair is a senior budget analyst for the Navajo Food Distribution Program. He is being honored for working with government officials to streamline and improve tribal funding
- Examine Native American Party: "An interesting idea is being raised by Tim Giago; a South Dakota columnist and prominent American Indian writer. He suggests creating a Native American Party. The idea is not necessarily that American Indians have candidates run for office like the Green or Libertarian parties, but that the new party would put the Republicans and Democrats off balance, so to speak. In the past, Giago said, the Republican Party ignored Indian people because they knew we voted Democratic. The Democrats, for their part, took us for granted because we were a done deal; we always vote Democrat. He has an idea — something to chew on. So, here are some questions: What are the advantages for Indian people to put themselves into such a small group? And we are a small group, when you compare the American Indian voting population to the population of, say, Hispanic or black voters. They have large and powerful voting blocks."

C. YOU NEED TO CHOOSE THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WORKIGN IN US
1. IT’S A CHOICE - We need to CHOOSE - ask the Holy Spirit to CONTROL our lives – choose day by day, sometimes we need to choose hour by hour. (Either we are controlled by God’s Spirit of we are self-controlled, which in reality is being controlled by our old nature that is dead).
Romans 8:1-5 - "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires."
Ephesians 3:16 - "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being."
2. WALKING HIS PATH EVERYDAY - It is the power of the Holy Spirit that grows as we are filled with His living water - that keeps us on Christ’s path.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18 - "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
1 John 4:13 - "By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit."
3. DEPEND ON THE HOLY SPIRIT'S POWER AND WISDOM - Each day, don’t depend on your own wisdom and power, but on the Holy Spirit’s power. In faith, give thanks even for the rough times and trials. As you read His Word, claim the promises that the Holy Spirit gives you.
Romans 5:3-5 - "Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us."
Ephesians 3:16 - "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being."
Ephesians 3:20-21 - "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
4. THANK HIM FOR HIS WISDOM, HIS POWER, HIS UNFAILING LOVE, HIS TRUTH FOUND IN HIS WORD AND EMPOWERED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Romans 8:27 - "And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will."
1 Corinthians 2:10 - "But God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 - "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

"Greetings in the Name of Jesus. I can really thank God that there are prayer warriors that can pray with those in need. I've got only one son Ryan. He is adopted when he was 2 weeks old. He is 16 years old. Myself and husband and he is born again. Ryan got saved when he was 10 years old. He also got baptized when he was 13 years. Ryan are currently busy with media ministry and is a real blessing. Ryan is currently smoking cigarettes and he is listening to worldly rap music. He also got worldly stuff on his computer and phone. This is very painful to me as a mother because I really love the Lord and are also studying my BA Degree in pastor. My prayer is that God will deliver Ryan. I know that he is experiencing hurt because he is adopted. He once told me he wish that I was his real mother! Please pray with me because I don't want my son to be swallowed in by this world.
